Tad at the Eagle Festival in Essex, CT

February 19th, 2007
Sharon over at Birdchick.com has been kind enough to share exclusively with the site her high-res pictures of Paul filming a Tad segment for The Colbert Report at the Eagle Festival in Essex, Connecticut. Let's all give her a round of applause for her generosity! I added her descriptions to some of the photos to explain what is happening. Click each photo for a pop up of the large, high-res image.

WARNING: Some people might consider these pictures spoilers since they reveal some of what happens in the segment, so be aware of that before you proceed.

Please be respectful and don't redistribute these photographs. Thank you!

"Setting up the shot. That speck in the sky behind them is an eagle."
More set up
"Members of Connecticut Audubon threatening to take the eagle shooter away."
Paul posed for some photos
"Field producer Nicole Savini reminding us not to laugh at whatever Paul is about to do. She told us to just act confused, outraged, surprised."
"Paul looking at the eagle nest through a spotting scope with a bunch of birders."
Interviewing Phil Donahue
a great horned owl.
"The last two were towards the end of the day when Paul was holding up a boom box--"Say Anything" style."
"I like the second one best with a ring-billed gull behind him trying to figure out what he is doing."
